Así, en Martínez Kleiser (1945: 287). Gomis (1998: 163) localiza el refrán en Andalucía: Septiembre, / el mes más malo que el año tiene. Finalmente, Rúa Aller (2014: 193) documenta el refrán en El Páramo (León) con la variante Septiembre es el mes más malo que el año tiene, y lo acompaña de la siguiente glosa: Puede ser por la variedad de meteoros: lluvia, viento, frío, y no solo frío.
